Pre-war Brickplayer - Kits B5 and B7
Spears' first Brickplayer kits were made in 1938. Dave Meesam's original brickplayer.co.uk
website mentioned two kits that he said were numbered B5 and B7. Instructions were given for just five models
in the B7 kit, of which only three could be built with Kit B5. See the
Brickplayer components page for a discussion of what was
included in these kits.
It is interesting to note that the kits themselves do not say anywhere that they are a Kit B5 or B7
(or any other numbering). They can be identified by the size of the box and the number of components and
plans they contain.
A simple 4-page instruction booklet was provided. Rather than the
blueprints provided in later kits, separate detailed plans were given for each model,
including a ground plan.
These pre-war kits are rare and because of their age are generally not in really good condition.
However, I have managed to create completed copies of both kits.
